Emily Gonzaga Graduate

It was a pleasure to meet Emily and her parents Kathy and Gary.  I met them near the statue of St. Ignatius a.k.a. “Darth Vader” and we mapped out our photo session.  You’ll see in the images that we hit all the iconic spots (skipping the Bulldog statue because like most GU students Emily already has plenty of photos next to it!).  As we meandered from St. Al’s to the Bing Crosby house Emily said hello to classmates and we chatted about future plans.  I am interested in everyone I photograph, that’s what helps me to capture my subjects.  The ability to portray a person as their friends and family know them is very important to me.  I try not to stylize my sessions, or put too much of my own likes and interests into some ones photos.  We may have started the day as strangers, but after an hour of walking, talking and stopping for photographs, I felt like I knew Emily and her parents and I felt like I had captured her.  I hope that when they see these images they say “Ah, that’s the fun loving, hard working, caring Gonzaga graduate we know!”  Thank you so very much for spending time with me and allowing me to capture your family photos during this milestone in Emily, and your, lives.  Congratulations Emily!  Best wishes in your future endeavors!  Cheers!
