New year, new blog post. And what a beautiful session! The snow was perfect, the wind was swirling it around like I had never got to shoot in before, and it made a really cool effect. I love how the property looks in all four seasons and I am grateful to Rachelle, Jake and Paityn for braving the cold! I had a great time getting to know these guys. One of my favorite things I learned about Jake is that when he got Rachelle’s gorgeous engagement ring, he also picked out a ring for Rachelle’s daughter! It’s the perfect infinity symbol in rose gold and diamonds! Swoon! Congratulations to Rachelle and Jake! Happy New Year! xoxo, Emma
Stefanie + Garrett
I thought I would share a beautiful Coeur d’ Alene wedding this morning. This wedding is full of personal touches, classic design- from the flowers to the suits to the wedding colors! And of course, no other venue can match the breath taking view of Elk Point. To top off Stefanie and Garrett’s big day, we were all treated to a fire works display! This was a big deal because it wasn’t the Fourth of July! It wasn’t even July, it was Aug 27th! Everyone was pretty excited when the fireworks started and I will never forget Stefanie turning to me with a huge smile and saying “Emma, get a picture of us with the fireworks!” That made my night. I also enjoyed Garrett and Stefanie’s sense of humor. Check out the doughnuts table and the little sign that’s sitting on it 😉 Pretty funny stuff. Congrats Stefanie and Garrett!!! Best wishes! xoxo, Emma
Miss Savanna Class of 2017
Savanna’s easy going attitude and naturally beautiful smile made her Senior photo session a breeze. We were able to catch some gorgeous sunset and golden hour images in Coeur d ‘ Alene, Idaho. This was my first time shooting at the Riverstone Park and the photo opps were everywhere!!! I will definitely be back. Thank you Savanna for letting me take your Senior photos. Congrats on graduating! And good luck with golf this year!! Cheers! xoxo, Emma
Kayla + Brian = Engagement Session
This engagement session is breath taking! I love shooting in new locations and when I saw that Brian proposed to Kayla at beautiful Lake Como near Darby, MT I secretly wished that Kayla would ask me to be her photographer. My wish came true and on July 22, I headed out to Darby for Kayla and Brian’s engagement session. They had all the best locations scouted, and we had to include the family Ford pick up. It has been at all her brother’s wedding (the ones that got married in MT) and it’s part of the family. As a bonus Kayla’s pups sat with them, and we got some really fun shots with the dogs! I am looking forward to the wedding in Nov. Fingers crossed for good weather! See you two soon! Cheers! xoxo, Emma
Christy + Scott = Wedding
Wow, it’s busy season and boy did it take me longer than I wanted to post this! I am so happy to finally share with you Christy and Scott’s big day! Nothing could stop these two from tying the knot! Rain threatened, wind blew, but in the end Scott and Christy’s love for each other prevailed! What a party! Thank you Scott, Christy and your families for letting me be a part of your big day! It’s a wedding I will remember forever! I wish you all the best! xoxo, Emma
Lewis’ New Born Session
If you check my blog often, you may remember Casey and Danielle’s baby bump session from January of this year. They traveled out to my studio and we took photos outdoors with Danielle and Casey wrapped in a blanket, holding blue balloons and clinking mugs that read “Mommy Est. June 2016” and “Daddy Est. June 2016.” Well, Lewis was so eager to meet his loving parents that he decided to join them early! On May 27th Lewis was born, and as all the parents out there know, Danielle and Casey’s lives were changed forever! Congrats on such a handsome little man!!! Thank you for allowing me into your home and into Lewis’ life. Enjoy your newborn and family photos! I wish you all the best! Cheers! Emma
Ashley & Justin’s Wedding
Congratulations to Ashley and Justin! These two sweethearts are a match made in heaven. Weather threatened to ruin Ashley and Justin’s day, but rain only fell in Spokane and it stayed dry in Newport for the ceremony. Ashley’s family brought their vintage John Deere and Ford pick up to use as a back drop for photos. It’s personal touches like that which make the photos so special. They hired a rock star cast of wedding vendors, which I have listed below the images. Aaron from Grace Media worked right beside me to capture footage for Ashley and Justin’s video, which I can’t wait to see!! Congrats again to Ashley, Justin and your families! I wish you all the best! Thank you Justin for serving our country! Cheers! Emma

Heather & Jason’s Engagement
It was a pleasure to work with Heather and Jason. At their consultation I was trying to hold back my usual enthusiasm when discussing their wedding. They were meeting with more than one photographer and I wanted to play it cool. As I walked Heather and Jason out, Heather said to me that she was pretty sure they wanted me as their wedding photographer. She told me that she appreciated my enthusiasm, and that I was upbeat, friendly and outgoing. I told her that I was actually more excited than I was letting on, and that I was just holding back so she didn’t think I was a wedding freak. Hahaha Any one who knows me, knows how passionate I am about weddings, planning, and photos! I think we’re a pretty good match, and I am looking forward to drinking some good beer at Heather and Jason’s big day!!! Congratulations again!! See you in Sept! It’s going to be a blast. Cheers! Emma
Kyle + Whittney’s Baby Bump
Whittney is gorgeous! I love how her photos turned out. Kyle and Whittney braved the wind and posed with their doggies, stood in the lane and wandered around the ranch with me in search of shelter from the wind. It was quite the chore battling mother nature, but I assured them that it would be worth it! And just look at the sky! I think it was totally worth it! I can’t wait to meet their son! Congrats Whitt and Kyle! I’m looking forward to seeing you two enter parenthood! xxo, Emma
Bel Air Exclusive Venue
I have been photographing photo sessions on my parent’s property for years, it is where my studio is. My best friend got married here last summer, and because I was the maid of honor, I didn’t get a chance to shoot her wedding. Ever since last September I’ve been planning a stylized photo session at the Bel Air! It is gorgeous here in May and my handsome brother and his beautiful wife just happened to be coming for a visit! It is with huge gratitude and thanks to Theresa Akers, owner of Celestial Selections bridal boutique, that I actually had a gown for my model to wear! If you have ever been to Celestial Selections, then you know they carry all the top dress designers, and a huge selection of gowns. Many of my brides find their dream dress at Celestial and I recommend them to everyone! The staff is sweet and helpful, they work with an amazing alterations lady, and the entire experience is an enjoyable one. My models were first styled in a chic hipster type of fashion, next we tried out a bohemian flair, and finally the classic look. The flowers are peonies out of our front garden (you will see the pink peonie bushes in the last few images). Thank you Jake and Christine for hanging with me!!! And thank you to Theresa! I’m looking forward to many more beautiful occasions at the Bel Air! Cheers! xoxo, Emma
