Liz + Ben = Wedding

You are never sure what Mother Nature is going to do in spring time in the northwest.  When Liz called me about her April 2nd wedding I assumed we would be doing a lot of photos in doors.  Liz and Ben had booked the beautiful White House in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho so I knew we’d have a great location.  When April 2nd rolled around I was breaking out my dress and light cardigan!  The weather was perfect!  The sun was so bright that day that I went in search of even lighting and a good background.  The photos ran smoothly, everyone was super nice, and I was happy to have been a part of Liz and Ben’s big day.  They were pretty much strangers to me, but bearing witness to the nuptials (which included Ben and Liz giving Ben’s daughter Jane a beautiful necklace) left me feeling like I knew Liz and Ben longer than just a day.  There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Liz and Ben put Jane’s necklace on, and that moment was only matched by the toasts and special dances.  It was a wedding full of meaning and I want to congratulate Liz and Ben on a beautiful day.  Thank you for letting me be a part of it.  I hope you look through these images and recall all the wonderful moments of your wedding day.  Cheers!  xoxo, Emma

Thao + Myles = Engagement

Thao is the sweetest person I have ever met.  She’s always smiling and positive.  She has wonderful ideas about where to go and what to do for her photo session.  This September she will marry her soul mate Myles at the stunning Canons Edge wedding venue on Green Bluff!  I enjoy working with these two and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding!  The three of us had a great time around Coeur d’ Alene, the sun was shinning and it was unusually warm for March.  It was difficult to narrow the photos down to just a few of my favorites, so here are about 50 of Thao and Myles’ best shots.  Check out Thao’s ring- the diamond is in the shape of a heart!  Awwwww!  Cheers!  xoxo, Emma

Hillary + Eric = Engagement

Hillary and Eric have gorgeous smiles, so it was tough for me to ask them to be serious!  But you guys rocked it!  You owned all the poses I put you in and never complained once!  Even when I made Hillary walk everywhere in sky high wedge sandals!  I love these images, and I can’t wait for the December wedding!  Thank you so much Hillary, Eric and Hillary’s mom (the dog whisperer!) for the awesome session!  Cheers!  xoxo, Emma

Alicia + Jacob = Wedding

It was an honor to get to be Alicia and Jacob’s wedding photographer.  We didn’t have a chance to meet in person until the rehearsal the day before the wedding, so I really didn’t know these two as well as I know most of my couples.  At the rehearsal Alicia and Jacob’s friends filled me in on who’s who and informed me that since there were a lot of military personnel involved there were people from all over.  Alicia’s mom told me about her daughter’s accomplishments in the Navy and that she is in charge of over 200 men!  I was surprised to learn this about Alicia because working with her had been such a laid back process, she didn’t seem like the boss-lady type that she actually is!  But she put her faith in the professionals and trusted us to do our best work for her and Jacob.  It looked like a total success to me!  And I knew it was a job well done when at the end of the night Jacob’s mom was hugging me and thanking me for doing such a great job.  No thanks necessary Patty, I should be thanking you and your children for their service to our country.  Seriously, as the daughter of a veteran, THANK YOU Alicia, Jacob and your families for your sacrifices.  It’s truly appreciated!  I wish you all the happiness in the world and a wonderful life together!  Cheers! xoxx, Emily

Jeannie + Alec = Engagement

I am so happy to finally share Jeannie and Alec’s engagement photos.  I say ‘finally’ because this session has been a long time coming.  Alec works for the rail road, and with his schedule it’s tough to squeeze in a photo session.  The day we set out to take photos Alec had only a few hours of sleep- nothing a quick Starbucks trip can’t temporarily fix!  Alec and Jeannie were amazing to work with!  And they were all lovey dovey, I didn’t even have to ask them to smooch, they would just do it spontaneously.  I’m looking forward to the wedding!  I can’t wait.  Finally!  Right guys?!  Cheers!  xoxo, Emma

AJ’s 6 Month Session

Another adorable baby session in the books!  AJ was all smiles, playful and cooperative!  This 6, almost 7 month old, was one of the easiest babies I’ve ever photographed.  He worked really hard to be the best baby model ever, and by the end of the hour long session he was definitely tuckered out!  What a great little guy though!  I love that AJ’s parents brought his grandfather’s baseball as a special prop for use to photograph.  AJ loves that baseball and his eyes were on it when ever we brought it out!  It’s pretty cool that’s it’s the start of baseball season too.  AJ was a pleasure to photograph and I enjoy getting to know Kaycee and Tony as we wandered around taking photos.  I hope I get to see you all again soon! AJ’s one year photos, perhaps?!  Thank you so much for letting me photograph him!  Cheers!  Emma

Jordan + Tayler = Wedding

I met the groom Tayler at his friends’ wedding last summer.  Tayler entertained me with his cross country tale of graduating from music school in L.A. moving to Nashville, realizing the love of his life was in Spokane, and quickly driving all the way back to propose to her!  It’s a story like no other!  And it had all the elements I am passionate about!  There was music, travel and love!  On Jan. 23, 2016 Tayler and Jordan said “I Do” in front of over 300 of their closest family and friends.  The reception was at the Red Lion in Post Falls and the rain showers passed through in time for us to go outside for some beautiful photos on the patio.  Thank you Tayler and Jordan for allowing me to capture your wedding celebration!  Cheers!  Emma

Asha + Jared = Wedding

I could look at these wedding photos over and over again!  I hope Asha and Jared feel the same way because their wedding was absolutely stunning.  They’ve been blessed with the best friends and family any one could ask for.  And I’ve been blessed to know Jared, his sister and their parents for about 15 years.  Every single person involved, from the wedding party, to the families, to the officiant (Jared and Asha’s roommate and good friend) to the owners of Aspen Grove made the day magical and perfect.  There were some many unique details to this wedding that I had never seen before.  And to me, new, fresh and sentimental items are what drive my passion for wedding photography.  I had seen Asha’s beautiful wedding ring when I shot their engagement photos, it’s a huge pearl surrounded by diamonds.  The wedding day was the first time I saw Jared’s ring, which has Asha’s fingerprint on it.  Asha has always admired her mom and step father’s marriage, so her and Jared chose Oct. 10th to get married and share their anniversary with them!  Their cake topper was Jared’s grandparents’!   It’s details like these that I live for and love to photograph.  I know everyone had a wonderful time, and I certainly did too!  I am so happy for you guys!!!!  Best wishes and congrats!  Love ya, Emma  P.S. Schmaltz Family Photos

I’m so happy the stars aligned and Brynne and I were finally able to schedule her family photo session!  With their little man just turning 1 year old, it was imperative that Brynne and Paul get some updated photos!  It’s always wonderful to see this family, and the older kids are rock stars when it comes to having their photos taken!  Enjoy your images Schmaltz family!  And thank you for letting me take them! Cheers! Emma
