Carissa and Mike are my ideal couple to work with because all they want to do is have fun! And with Carissa’s organizational skills and awesome creative talent, their wedding day was so much fun! As far as I could tell everything ran like clock work! And if it didn’t, well then they fooled me! But hey, they were working with the awesome people at Beacon Hill and for the second weekend in a row I got to work a wedding with my favorite DJ Matt Parker of Sound Authority so how could it not run smoothly?! Carissa made everything from the centerpieces, to the bouquets and boutineers, to the bridesmaids adorable T-shirts you see in the first photo collage! Beacon Hill is a beautiful venue and I am so glad I already have a wedding booked there next summer! Cheers Carissa and Mike! I don’t even have to tell you to have fun being married, because I know you already are! xxo
Christina + Josh = Wedding Celebration!
I’m sort of a car freak. Any one who knows my family knows that my dad owned an auto body shop for 34 years, so when Christina’s dad rolled up in the Camaros it was all I could do to focus on wedding party pictures and not those beautiful American muscle cars! Only joking Christina and Josh! Although I know ya’ll had as much fun as I did taking photos with the cars. Once you see the cars, you’ll understand why Christina and Josh picked their wedding colors. What an absolutely awesome day, from start to finish I know I couldn’t ask for any thing better! And I hope Christina and Josh feel the same way! I had a great time catching up with an elementary school friend I hadn’t seen in forever. And of course it’s always a party with one of my favorite DJ’s, Mr. Matt Parker of Sound Authority behind the DJ table! Congratulations Christina and Josh!
Gretchen & Paul’s Beautiful Family
First of all I must thank Paul for his service to our country. He’s returning to the Middle East, and being the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran I know the sacrifices our service men and women make. Since Paul is being deployed, this family photo session held special meaning. Gretchen and Paul welcomed their little girl Rosie 5 months ago and wanted some really nice images for Paul to take with him. Everyone did so well on this photo shoot!!! I was especially pleased with the way Rosie smiled, looked up, and was just an absolute doll through out the whole shoot! Here are a few of my favorite images! Paul, I hope I was able to serve you in some small way by taking your family photos, because I appreciate the service you provide to me and this country I love. Take care! And hurry back!
Kayla + Jeff = Best Day Ever
I am so impressed with the wedding venues Spokane has to offer! If I were planning a wedding I think I would have a difficult time selecting a spot! Chateau Rive at The Flour Mill is absolutely unique and beautiful! And of course The Davenport Hotel is without a doubt the best hotel in Spokane, as far as having history, character and style! And to top these amazing places off Kayla and her mom rented furniture and other pieces from The Attic to add flair and achieve the look Kayla and her family wanted for the big day! I’ve never had a bride with a dress like Kayla’s! Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a bride comes along with a dress that takes your breath away! Jeff and his guys chilled in their room watching baseball until the bride’s mom and I bugged them to get dressed. And I especially enjoyed teasing the guys because as it turned out, one of the groomsman and I have been friends for about 13 years! That was a really funny surprise when I learned he was in the wedding party! I love my job and all the little perks it has. Catching up with an old friend is definitely a good time! Thank you Kayla, Jeff and your wonderful families for letting me join in your special day! I’ll definitely never forget this one! And I’m sure you won’t either! Cheers! xoxo
Andrea + Brad = Wedding Awesomeness!
City meets country. I loved looking through these images and noticing Brad and a few of the groomsmen’s golf shoes with Andrea and her girls’ cowboy boots! I love the contrast! Everything about this wedding was perfect! The decorations (which the bride’s family worked tirelessly to make!) were Pintrest perfect! (Which reminds me I should pin a few images after I post this blog!) I got to know Brad and Andrea quite well during our 5 hour engagement shoot in March. Most of our day was spent driving to the location, and having lunch and I love getting to spend that time just talking with my brides and grooms. When wedding day came, Brad and Andrea were 100% themselves! Making more silly faces than serious faces, and joking around with their friends family and guests. What a fun couple! Best wishes you two crazy kids! God Bless! xoxo, Emma
Cydni, Jenna, Spencer, & Holly
What do you do when you’ve planned for months and month to surprise your mom with a family photo shoot and when the day comes it’s raining cats and dogs and you’ve already schedule a downtown Spokane photo shoot? You move it in doors and every one stays happy and dry! Thank God I have a studio!! And I actually like the studio better for this group. Everyone arrived wearing white and looking oh so fresh and clean! I laughed by butt off with this group. And I had no idea just how special this shoot was for everyone. Spencer had just arrive in Spokane that morning! And Cydni (mom) was truly surprised to have all three of her children present. I’m over the moon that I got to scheme with Jenna on this shoot! Thanks lady- I’m here for you ANY time!! XOXO to Cydni, Jenna, Spenc, and Holly!!!
Kaitlyn + Joby = Wedding
Kaitlyn and Joby grew up on the same street. All their friends and family called it early on, they all told Kaitlyn and Joby they would get married one day! Kaitlyn’s sister and maid of honor, gave a heartfelt speech and pointed out the fact that EVERYONE knew these two would get married! Having that knowledge all along that Kaitlyn and Joby would marry didn’t subdue the tears of joy that were shed. St. Joseph’s Catholic Church was the venue for the ceremony, and the party got under way at the Fireside Room at Center Place in the Spokane Valley. There are many perks to my job, but this one included the surprise that Joby’s great grandpa and my great grandpa were brothers! Joby and I are distant relatives! Woo hoo! I love shooting weddings for family, even if it’s family I had never met before! I’m so happy everything worked out the way it did! Congrats to the two little love birds from the same block. Scroll to the end to see the “Then and Now” photos!
Miss Ashley and Cameron’s Wedding Day
April weddings in Spokane, WA are always a little dicey. And yes, we experienced all that the Inland Northwest weather has to offer! Rain, wind and finally sunshine! Ashley and her girls and Cameron and his fellas were amazing through out it all! People ask me all the time if I get lots of good ideas from all the weddings I shoot, and I tell them of course I do! I want Ashley’s dad to sing the “Our Father” at my wedding! That man has some pipes! Thank you Ashley and Cameron and your wonderful families for an unforgettable day!
Andrea + Brad Engagement Session
What a great day for engagement photos! The quaint town of Harrington, WA was the perfect backdrop for this country girl and Spokane city boy. Well, Brad was at home once we got to the golf course. The Harrington Opera house was a photographer’s dream to shoot in, with an abundance of natural light and more textures and detail that I even imagined we’d find there! Brad and Andrea are so perfect for each other I had no problem filling a 4 GB memory card (500 images)! And no Brad and Andrea, I didn’t take a record number of pictures because you WEREN’T photogenic, it was quite the opposite! Thank you for a fun day! Those 5 hours just flew by! HaHa Looking forward to June 23rd! And on a final note- yes, Andrea’s diamond IS yellow! It’s beautiful! Cheers! xoxo, Emma
